Maison

The art of listening, since 2001.

From the Latin: Ars (art) plus Aures (ears). A declaration of love for musical reproduction that is at once name, method and promise. Acoustic loudspeakers. Handmade by those who studied acoustics before building it.

The Ars Aures headquarters in Castelvetrano, Sicily — the building that houses the atelier

The premises

Castelvetrano, Sicily.

It all begins here, in the hinterland of western Sicily. It is in this building that every Ars Aures loudspeaker is designed, built and varnished — from the selection of the wood to the final tuning of the crossover.

Not a production line but an atelier: a few pairs each year, each followed from start to finish. The doors are open to distributors and clients by appointment, to hear the speakers in the very place where they take shape.

The maison

The instrument comes home

An Ars Aures loudspeaker does not furnish: it tunes. Hand-built in Castelvetrano, Sicily — variable-thickness walls, fifteen working stages for the final varnish, a crossover wound one by one — it takes its place in domestic life as a piano or another musical instrument would. It does not ask to be looked at: it asks to be listened to.

Ars Aures — why the art of the ear

The name comes from the Latin: Ars (art) plus Aures (ears). It is not an acronym, nor a web agency's slogan. It is a sincere promise made directly to our clients: to build loudspeakers that bring you closer to the truth. As no one has ever done before. Seven versions of loudspeakers in production, up to ten weeks of work per pair on the Estasi flagship in its Evo version. With one constant: a single design philosophy — musical truth before any effect.

Values

Five convictions.

Not slogans. The five design convictions that have guided the company: from the first DO to today's Estasi Evo.

Musical truth

The goal is never sonic effect or easy astonishment: it is fidelity to the recording and to the performer's nuances. A poorly captured recording will be exposed with all its flaws. A well-recorded master will be brought fully into relief, in its natural form.

Time as a material

Ten weeks of work on the flagship are not a marketing figure. They are the time needed for the wood to settle, the varnish to cure, the crossover to take shape. A process that demands not haste but maturation. Slow and natural.

Applied science

The founder studied electronics, specialising in acoustics, at the University of Palermo before building loudspeakers. The patent on the alignment of the emission centres, shared with the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Acoustics, is the documentary evidence of a method.

Authentic Italianness

Not the stereotype of Italian luxury. The Sicilian tradition of cabinet-making, combined with a varnishing process like that of supercars. Every step is the result of a conscious choice, in line with the intended goal.

Direct relationship

We know each of our clients individually, having given a name to their passion for Music. The atelier is open by appointment. Production is limited by choice: fewer pairs, more care in making them.

See the work before the words.

The atelier is the brand's most rigorous document. The fifteen working stages for the final varnishing, the hand-wound crossover, the selection of the wood. All told to those with the patience to read it.
